i bought the witcher about a month ago. what caught my attention was all the awards the game got. im american but travelled and can piece together most foreign languages enough to do whatever is needed. sorry for all the bad attitudes of my fellow countrymen. this game is so incredible i have played it bout 81% of my free time. this is my first hd game and it totally blew my socks off. i will be looking for more witcher games in the future and possibly a movie. you pollacks keep producing great games and to hell with anyone who cannot compensate for the foriegn language barrier. super incredible bame, i havent had this much fun since the first pc baldurs gate. thank you cdprojekt.

well i can not speak for all Americans but when i buy a product i do not feel i should have to fix it. Even though it seems to be the industries norm to put out a product that does not work properly (what happened to PLAY TESTING?) it still does not make it right to do so. Then when you do try to patch the game you have problems with that, it is very frustating & PO's a lot of people.
If the job was done right the 1st time you would not have to here us American's be rude.

My problem with the patch is somewhat new to this list. I had no problems with downloading the patch, english language pack and some additional content from the four steps. Polish language was a bit annoying, but I managed. The story gets weird when I tried to install. The patch recognized me fine, started to install and gave an error stating that the language of the game installed does not match the language of the patch. When I tried to install the English language pack (UK version as is my game) it gives an error right away stating that I do not have TWEE installed. So now I'm pretty puzzled- can't install the upgrade because the language pack is missing and can't install the language pack because the upgrade is missing.

Trying to download the upgrade from Atari, but it still takes an hour or two to get it down again.

So in conclution - splendid game (nice work in there), nice home page (the witcher page) but too much customer-hatred in patching process.

I have a problem to install the patch, it tells me to register my game so I did ,but it still tells me to register the game even after I have done that!
What should I do to make it work!?

LOL This is some funny shit all our Polish brothers our laughing at us bitch about the Witcher being a Polish game. The Witcher rocks, I don't mind figuring out how to dl a patch. it took me roughly 25 mins to download the patch at 600kb/sec after that everything went smoothly. and to the guy above me: GET A NEW CPU!

M'kay, so I bought the original game awhile ago, installed it and played with without any problems, though the game was sort of slow and would crash from time to time, but I could deal with that. I uninstalled it after awhile to free up some space on my computer. I have since decided to reinstall it. I did, without any problems. Then I clicked on the "Check for Updates" on the launch screen and I went through the page on the site I was brought to, and I ended up here. I've 24% of the download finished, but I'm getting a little worried after reading all your comments.
Can you still download this when you don't have the Enhanced edition installed? I assumed it would upgrade the game to the enhanced edition?
So far I've had no problems, I downloaded the extra mission for the game already and tried to install it, but as I assumed it didn't work, only because I haven't installed this upgrade yet. The download will finish in about an hour or so, not too long to wait.
But, as I said, I'm getting worried by reading your comments. I'm hoping my worry will be for nothing and that it will install and upgrade my original version to the Enhanced Edition like I assumed it would. But the reason for the post is the following questions, will this upgrade my original edition to the enhanced edition? Do I have to do anything other than download and click install to get it to work? And any other advice you guys could give me would be helpful?

This great game was made by a polish company, so it makes sense they'd have the patch/upgrade on a polish site. Yeah, they should have put it up on an English speaking site for us English speaking people, but still, you can't really blame them.
Besides, I'm sure if you looked on, for instance.. GOOGLE, you'd find it on an English site aswell. And stop with the racism, it's just plain stupid. If you're so hateful, idiotic and screwed up enough to be as racist as some of the comments I've read, why bother buying a game made by a Polish company? Kinda stupid for a racist person to do, right? I understand you're all frustrated that you can't get it to work, but I'm sure if you calm the fuck down, shut the fuck up and stop being so ignorant and use a search engine you'll find a solution in your language. I'm Irish, and I don't appreciate idiots like some of the ones on here being so stupid and causing a nation to grow hateful towards the Irish for the behaviour of a small number of the idiots who claim the same ethnicity as me. Hi guys my problem is a little different and I hope you can understand English lol I cant understand your language though I would like to. I am downloading the Proper Patches but in order to apply them to my game I have to Register - thats alright. Yet I have been given no registration Key you say in here to find it on the inside of the last page OK looked there - no registration key anywhere there. I read the manual and it says to find it the cover page on the inside still no luck no Damn CD key anywhere I did my best. Unless it was seperate from my manual its not there and I didnt get another piece of literaturwe with the CD Key in my Witcher Box. This must be unusual but what in the ELL do I do Please help me at [e-mail]

hi, being english, and being off online gaming decent, ive picked up a lil polish here and their, and from what i gather, the patch for the enhanced version, stats that it is 900mb+ but after i have downloaded this patch it registers as 530mb, can some1 confirm if this is correct or not, due to the fact it took me 6 hours to download using 3G mobile broadband, and dont really feel like downloading this again??????

ok so i now know i need the whole 900mb and have found this on a NON- POLISH website if it helps any of us / those incompartent english speaking pricks that cant be assed to look for a download button, and i can say this whilst actaully being english and from england, and i must admit this racism shit is pretty shitty guys, does it really matter where the fuck games come from, even if it is from poland :D

sorry for flaming but i forgot to mention i had problems with the original download place (only downloaded the 900mb file as 530mb,) thats why i found that other1, which took about 10minutes to download @ 1.45mbs (28mb line).

i just started reading all this before i even tried to download the patch and i did not understand why all you people are so rude but now i understand the people of this site because they made a big efford to make it easy for us to download and it is easy so now it is clear to me all you rasist you are stupid i only went to school till i was sixteen and i figured it out in seconds and it took me 20 minutes to download so it has nothing to do with this server that it takes 6 hours or what ever
