"2) What is the general Ukrainian opinion (or state of knowledge) about
massacres of Polish civilians commited by UPA?
Is it something widely known, or something very obscure? If it's known, then
what are the usual opinions about that?"
Odpowiedzi były różne:
"No massacres were commited by UPA. READ other than polish and russian
literature."
"In the uncritically pro-UIA accounts this episode is normally aither being
glanced over, explained away as retaliation against Poles collaborating with
Soviet partisans/German police/AK attacking Ukrainian population, or denied
outright, as we can see from the preceding reply.
Information about the hostilities between Poles and Ukrainians during the WWII
became more widely known recently, but there is no "generally accepted" view
on the subject."
"As far as the massacres of Polish population, heck yes, there was a pretty
bunch! These crimes where not well studied by the independent party and until
then I will not be surprised to see even an IPN article about ritual acts of
cannibalism committed by S. Bandera. Guess how much credit it will carry?"
