Preparing for the exam I attended an FCE course where we have many possibilities to learn gramma, vocabulary and so on, but we I wasn't satisfied with my speaking. eirinn Re: What's your opinion ? 11.08.04, 14:24 Well, it's not always better. In a group you interact with different speakers. But it's all down to the question of who's teaching you. So look around, do a bit of asking and find a school and a teacher with really good reputation. Odpowiedz Link Zgłoś

amused.to.death Re: What's your opinion ? 11.08.04, 15:48 it always depends on a learner. I'd go for private lessons, but I don't claim it's best for everybody. Odpowiedz Link Zgłoś
ineess Re: What's your opinion ? 11.08.04, 17:10 I would say that: 1. Besides the lessons, it is important to do (FCE) tests alone. 2. Write short stories and give your teacher to check. Check the time. You have to learn to write 2 short stories in 1hour 15 minutes or so. 3. Do the listening exercises alone (at home). Some libraries have the proper materials…. 4. Check your English level (time) at the beginning. Nowadays, a lot of young people is good at English and don’t have to practise a lot … Odpowiedz Link Zgłoś
abere8 Re: What's your opinion ? 12.08.04, 02:16 When I was preparing for my FCE, I had private lessons, but they looked like this: I had my own book and for every lesson I did as much from it as I managed to - read the texts, did the exercises, looked everything up in a dictionary (I simply loved doing that!). When I saw my teacher, I read the answers to her, asked any questions that I had, and practiced speaking. Sometimes she lent me tapes for the book so I could do some listening tests at home. Also, she gave me a ton of supplementary materials, mostly for grammar practice, but all the work I did at home by myself and that was the best way for me. If I didn't prepare enough for a lesson, I didn't profit from it much, because I had to sit and think about the answers to exercises there and then. So it all depends on how motivated you are and how independent you are in your learning. Odpowiedz Link Zgłoś
