Deficit in Brit- Polish rock star exchange

Excluding Basia, who has moderate fame in Britain, no Polish Rock- or Pop-
star made any significant impact in Britain.
Bobo, U2 and countles others continue to tour and make profits on Eastern
European music market.
Should Poland folow France and control Anglo-Saxon dominance in entertaiment.
Should poor man of Europe stuff pockets of super-rich British Rock stars?
Why not to be fair and let polish artist have a piece of British market as
well?

I humbly suggest that setting annual quotas and 5-year-plans to regulate the
PL-UK star exchange could help in solving this shockingly unfair disparity.

Furthermore- I would allow only one copy of Shakespeare/Dickens/Conrad on the
Polish market for every one copy of Prus/Orzeszkowa/Zeromski published in the UK.

And one student of English in Poland for every student of Polish over there.
And- that goes without saying- one exit visa for the travel of a Polish citizen
to the Islands for one Briton who's visited our beautiful land.

Now, that would only be fair!

Oh, I forgot!- only one Polish immigrant to the UK for one British citizen who
would choose to settle permanently in PL.
(Same should go for the US as well, wouldn't you agree, Waldek? :))

Excellent ideas. Still, I would hate Poland and the UK to have their levels of Muslim populations balanced out.

well, in that case I would have Conrad banned in PL altogether, for I am not
aware of any Briton so fantastically prolific in Polish!

Besides, I strongly suspect that Korzeniowski was kidnapped (call it an early
case of brain-drain!) and MADE to write in English!
What sane person on god's earth would ever trade bucolic life in the Volhynia
marshlands for fame in Victorian London!!!???

What do we do about the entertainment industry? English-singing stars get
continuous exposure in the Polish media. I wonder who is behind it! Since I
came to England, I have not heard a single Polish song on the radio. I am
pleased that Basia is moderately popular but actually why is her popularity
only moderate? I'm sure the girl is doing her best yet someone/something is
letting her down. Poland enjoys full membership of the European Union and the
market regulators in Brussels should wake up to the fact that Poles all over
the world are aware of their human rights and will not stand for blatant
discrimination. We stopped the Turks and saved Europe from Muslim domination
(oh dear), we stopped the rot of communism, we can unite to stand up to - and
if necessary - fight the anglo-domination.

I for one, am prepared to write to the Times, call the BBC and contact my MP to
point out the shocking injustice and appeal to the English sense of fair play.

Please don't make me divorce if mixed marriages aren't on a par in both
countries.

Answer is; we Poles or Slavs should do our own thing, (which means baing less
homage to anglo-saxon culture) If we ignored Hollywood and US-British Pop -
stars little more it would be ok. I don't see a reason why multimilionare Bono
or McCartney should come to Poland to make even more money off poor people.

Victorian London and Chopin

speaking of (early)Victorian London, Frederic Chopin hated it, on his to visits
there. The English bilbords bearing name "Duppa Company" would crack him up, he
would write to a friend that you have Dupa (polish for rear end)spead all over
London..ha ha
He also complained of British aristocracy being cheap, doing tricks to avoid
paying for his classes or performances.
Also, endless stories told by British Aristocrats to him, about pedigree of
their noble families backwards all the way to Jesus Christ himself...

Actually, Wellsh historian Norman Davies and writer is very fantasticly
prolific in polish...

Chris,
Joseph Conrad is not a good example since he was in fact Polish..(Jozef
Korzeniowski) But it is still amaising Brits adobted him!!

I also sugest one BA flight to Warsaw for every LOT flight to London( I heard
British Airlines unsuccesfully wanted to dominate that conection).
How about one contract awarded to Polish company for one British bussiness in
Poland.
Of course French, and Germans like to complain about supoused polish plumber
stealing their job, but at the same time they don't want to admit they love
when Polands opens; supermarket, telecomunications and automotive market for
them in Poland.
