Up to two or three centuries ago all verbs could form their own negative merely by adding "not": "I know not why I am so sad." (Shakespeare, "Merchant of Venice") I like not nut's nutting. Theoretically, you could adhere to the old ways and construct your negatives this way, and you would be understood perfectly well.
