Not true. About 280 million people use fahrenheit scale everyday.
If you live in USA and don't know Fahrenheit, God help you dress.

        By the way.
In the spring, when there is 60 degrees, people wear shorts and T-shirts.
In the Fall, when there is 60 degrees, people wear overcoats. Go figure.

I figure you live somewhere in the northern part of the US. :)

have a look at wacko jacko's address, I guess it's NYC area.

BTW: I should have erased Celsius from the title as he's got nothing to do
            with the story.

Not NYC area. Mi casa es Ciudad de Nueva York, amigos.
After so many years in NYC one does not need the converter.
When they say it's gonna be hot, hazy and humid, about 98 degrees,
                you say: FUCK
And when they say Siberian Express is coming, about 20 degrees with minus 8
wind chill. you say: FUCK and again.

It's a lot worse with distance. In a long jump, the best guy in competition
jumped 28 feet. I have no idea how far it was. My imagination is still in
                meters and centimeters.

                  it's not hard: 1foot=30cm , 1 inch=2,5 cm, 1foot=12inches, 1 yard=3 feet and so
on. more confusing to me is conversion from gallons to liters, but i'm getting
a hold of it. and these bloody ounces!!!

It is a very hard approach you shouldn't convert them in the first place, try
                    to imagine them.

For example a gallon - when I think about it I imagine the milk container with
the handle, you can buy it in any grocery store in the US. I miss it in Poland
                    it was very convenient.

A foot - well look at your foot, it is a good approximation.

Farenheit - 32 is the freezing point, 70 my favorite room temperature, 100
you've got a fever or it is very hot outside.

a mile - my favorite crusing speed is about 70 mph

                    a six-pack - may favorite volume unit :)

                    etc.

Generally after I got used to them I prefer American units because they are
usually bigger and therefore more convenient.

Thanks awalk. It's indeed a matter of imagination not a simple conversion.
