Hi Jonny! Sorry to bother you before xmas but could you just answer
this 1 little question plz? Is "wanna summer back" correct or not?
I'm arguing with my friend and she says it is but for me it doesn't
sound right. ("want the summer back", "want my summer back".. etc.
But "WANNA summer back??)

      Hi & Merry Xmas!!

      This is slang...like "I wanna sweet".."I wanna holiday"...but to
say "I wanna summer back"....(surely your friend is not referring to
an English summer as we don't have them!!)this is not correct..."I
want the summer back" or "I want my summer back".."wanna" being
slang for "want a" and in this case we do not use the indefinate
artticle...5% of whatever you've won please!!

Thanx Jonny for a prompt answer! So I was right - hehe! (And sure!
You've got 5% of my winnings! Don't know what it is yet - but 5% of
        it is yours! :-))
Just to clarify: I thought that "wanna" was slang for "want to".
Therefore "wanna go swimming?", "wanna eat sth?".. etc. would be
correct but "wanna drink?", "wanna fag?".. ect. - would not.
Of course when you say "want a drink", "want a fag" - you can't hear
the last "t" and "want a" becomes "wanna". But I've never actually
seen it written like that. Oh well, you learn sth new everyday :-)
Thanx again Jonny and I'll let you know about that prise!
        Take care

Hi! You are right..."wanna" can also mean "want to" but as its slang
usage is by common concensus-there are no rules! Let me know what
          you've won. :-)
