witam, co to za konstrukcja "be it [termin], [termin]"

lapie sie, ze uzywam pewnych konstrukcji/zwrotow, a jak mnie ktos mniej biegly
spyta co to takiego, dlaczego tak powiedzialesm, czy to jest
kolokwializm/spoken English, to jestem zglebiony (zglebiony, nie zgłębiony)

Ja chyba bym to przetlumaczyla: "niech to bedzie",albo-zaleznie od kontekstu:
"czy to...czy...", np: Everyone in here is so pretty, be it a boy or a girl
(np.nie wiem,na jakims zjezdzie modeli i modelek:D)

ja rozumiem, sam uzywam wielu rzeczy instynktownie, ale trudno to pozniej opisac
z punktu widzenia gramatycznego :/
