A very interesting analysis. A comparison with Mrs Thatcher becomes ever more
revealing. Mrs T was more liberal than 'the brothers' but economic policy
aside there was the same nationalism, populism anti-intellectualism (though
Mrs T was also a lawyer), anti-Europeanism . Mrs T wanted to hang people, she
hated the established media, she had a conspiracy theory which led to her
well-known judgement of people as 'one of us' - or not. Mrs T also hated the
established church but held strong non-conformist views. Mrs T was shaped by a
peculiar relationship with her parents - in this case her dad.

The voting patterns for Mrs T were always dominated by women as the key
'floating' sector.

Mrs T never lost an election she was stabbed in the back by her own party -
not a minute too soon for those of who loathed her - but without it she might
well have won again!

And the brothers? I think that Mr Tusk missed the best change to get the party
out of the drivers seat and now it will be a long and painful process.

tHE MOST UNFORTUNATE SITUATION EMERGED AS REPORTED ,THAT THE PEOPLE
WHO SWINGED THE POLSTERS PERCENTAGES POSTING FAVORABLE RETURNS FOR
pis PARTY ARE UNSOFISTICATED AND NOT VERY KNOWLEGABLE IN THE WORLD
HISTORY. lITTLE DO THEY KNOW OF WHAT HAPPENED BEFORE NAZI PARTY
TOOK OVER IN GERMANY. iT STARTAD WITH SUPRESSION OF THE FREEDOM OF
THE PRESS TO BE REPLACED BY PARTY PROPAGANDA. lITTLE DO THEY KNOW
THAT THE pis IS LEANING TO THE AUTHOCRATIC ALMOST DICTATORIAL RULE.
THE WORLD IS WATHING THE RESULT OF THE ELECTIONS . THE QUESTION
REMAINS IF Poland will becomes a democracy or if She will drift into
the camp of tyranical rule. The other unfortunate problem is that
the functionaries of the PIS are using radio Maryja to stear up
emotional fervor among the religoius people . Of course they
complement each other in their zeal to undermine democratic
principles that so many of us died for during the nazi occupation
and communist rule alike. I am a Polish -AMERICAN A ROMAN CATHOLIC
