It's a shame that that side of the world will never have peace...
I know people from both sides of the conflict and it seem like an ongoing
slanging match....

You have to be mad to provoke Israel.
Unfortunately, there's no lack of mad people in the region, and the Israeli
govt and army have a fairly loose definition of "to provoke", so it was bound
to happen.

Firing rockets at Israeli civilians is as out of order as bombing Lebanese
power stations and bridges, but now that they've got a real war, both sides can
justify whatever atrocities they feel like committing by saying, "We don't like
it either, but there's a war on."

Interestingly, the only semi-coherent thing Bush jr has ever said in public was
just the other day, when he told Blair that the answer to this was to "get
Syria to get Hizbollah to stop doing this shit." This actually makes sense, but
Georgie-baby only said it because he didn't realise his microphone was on.

Yes but the problem with Syria and Lebanon
is the same as was with Poland and Russia for years.

Now that Lebanon has gotten rid of Syrians, they now have to ask them for help
again. Which will infact end in
a - war with Israel
b - occupation of Lebanon by Syria.

So they've lost either way.
Not to mention Iran.
