Unfreezing Moscow

Putin in Poland on 1 September? Great, but who will visit Poland
officially from Russia on the 17th of September? Mr Medwedew maybe?
I doubt.

Another question: Russian-west European Baltic pipeline. Yes, the
Britons will build this pipeline, gas should go to many countries
like Netherlands or Germany and why Poland will not be in this
project? There were proposals from Russian site but Poland said “no,
we will do nothing with Russia”. Then Germany proposed to
Poland “you can have this gas directly from Germany to Poland” but
Poland said “we don’t need more gas from Russia”. And of course
everybody tries to sell own goods directly to the customers. Its
much better to transport this gas without such unstable countries
like Belarus or Ukraine.

And the last thing: we in Poland should not forget that in the 1990s
was the big discussion in Poland with the motto “Russia could use a
gas pipeline in Poland for espionage (theoretically electronical
devices in the pipeline); of course all that jazz was ridiculous but
Russia said “all right we don’t have any problems with Poland and
will build the new pipeline not in Poland”. And now are we unhappy
again in Poland?
