Could you help me to solve a rebus? I've been thinking for about one month
and still don't know the answer... It is probably a phrase, but I'm not
sure...

The rebus is: "lov" (yes, that's all :-)))

To make it easier I'll give you examples of other rebuses:
"amUous" - ambiguous
"trutheder" - the intruder

    • Gość: cm A few questions IP: *.cpe.net.cable.rogers.com 07.01.04, 01:18
Is the first letter an I or a small l?

Is the second a zero or an O?

The font makes it difficult to tell what the characters should be.

I have quite a few of these but have never seen this one and don't see what it
      could be.

By the way, if you don't mind, how did you do in your Level III test?

That should be capital i or small L.

      OK it is LOV

It's one of the stranger ones. It is LOVE but it has no end.
Therefore the meaning "Never ending love".

So here are two for you.

      SHEADAND R
      ROADS
      A
      D
      S

        Lets try that again.

        1) SHEADAND

        2) R
        ROADS
        A
        D
        S

Damn...this thing keeps taking out the spaces I need.
          Forget the second.
          • Gość: Lily Re: Got it IP: *.neoplus.adsl.tpnet.pl 07.01.04, 12:03
I thought you found the answer - "never ending love", but I went to that
website, entered the answer and it was wrong.... Now it seems to be even more
            difficult... However now I think you're a genius :-)))

As to your second rebus, I guess the answer is "crossroads", even though there
are no spaces :-) And I'm thinking about the first one now... Is it connected
            anyhow with the second rebus?

As to my LCCI exam (wow, you remembered :-)) I'm quite happy, I did my best,
but it could be better... My report was quite poor, as I didn't have much time
for it... But the oral exam was the worst... My topic was "Staff appraisal" - I
had to talk about it for 8 minutes... And I did, but it was the worst topic in
the exam - the other people's topics were: "Internet" or "Travel Industry"
(much easier). I'm waiting for the results now - the exam sheets and recorded
tapes were send to England, so I'll get my mark probably in March... Long time
            to wait, isn't it? :-)

Well I thought I was a genius too ;-) Then you said I was wrong :-(

Now my brain is stuck in that direction. I still think it may be LOVE (the
              rebus I mean).
Perhaps a variation on my original such as
E's not in love (he's not in love) or E's out of love
              Unending love

Sorry to hear you did not do as well as you had wished in your test. Your
written posts are always very good so I would have thought you would do well.
The problem with a lot of test is that they are deliberately designed to be too
long. I guess they feel that is one way to put the person under stress.

Crossroads is the answer to the second and the first has no relation to the
              second.

I think the answer to your first rebus is "head in sand", isn't it?

Unfortunately, the "lov" rebus is still unsolved... I tried different
variations of the answer, but all of them were wrong :-( I've just sent an e-
mail to the webmaster and asked for some clues :-)

Thanks for your nice opinion about my writing :-) Your posts are more than
good, they're perfect. In fact, I think you're English. Am I right?
                • Gość: cm Re: Got it----or Not IP: *.cpe.net.cable.rogers.com 08.01.04, 02:28
                  That is the correct answer.

                  Try these

                  1) ALLIVI IIVALL

                  2) lip lip

                  3) close close
                  comfort
                  comfort
                  comfort
                  comfort

I haven't given up on the "lov" but it has me stumped right now.

                  Me English? Not quite.

The answer to number 2 is probably "tulips".
Number 3 - "Too close for comfort"?

I'm trying to figure out the first one.

And here's something for you, so that you're not bored :-)
                    1) SSSSSSSSSSE
                    2) C H I M A D E N A
                    3) XQQQQQQ
                    • Gość: cm Re: Got it----or Not IP: *.cpe.net.cable.rogers.com 08.01.04, 05:18
You got them right....have to find you a tougher one.

Hey! I'm still trying to get "LOV".

                      1) Tense
                      2) Made in China
                      3) Excuse

                      • Gość: Lily Got it, finally! IP: *.neoplus.adsl.tpnet.pl 08.01.04, 17:05
I asked people form "Łamigłówki" forum what the answer could be. And someone
said "Endless love" and it's correct! Finally my mind is free from this
                        terrible rebus :-)

But this proves that all in all you are a genius :-) You were thinking the same
                        way :-)

Two of your answers are correct, but the first one should be: Tennessee :-)

And the answer to your first riddle is "All mean all" (however I'm learning
British English and for me it should be "means" :-)))
                        • Gość: cm Re: Got it, finally! IP: *.cpe.net.cable.rogers.com 08.01.04, 17:13
                          Darn, I was close. Genius....maybe not. :-)

Sorry that is not the answer to the first one.
Here it is again and a hint.

                          ALLIVI IIVALL

                          hint-

                            Now I know :-)

All for one, one for all
                            • Gość: cm Re: Got it, finally! IP: *.cpe.net.cable.rogers.com 08.01.04, 18:03
                              That's it!! Congrats

It was easy to guess after you gave me the clue :-)
