The best comedian series

IP: *.neoplus.adsl.tpnet.pl 13.03.05, 14:10
Hi,
What's your favourite comedian series?
Mine is defenitly Family Guy. Recently the staff who made this show came out
with a completley new production - American Dad. But it's worse than FG.
Thanks God, in May FOX is going to release a new season of Family Guy, I'm
looking forward to it.
In mean time, I'm watching Joey. It's a new show (till now there have been a
bit over 20 expisodes aired) but based on most famous series - Friends. In my
opinion, Joey is a lot better.
And what show do you like?

I really adore Allo Allo. For me there's nothing better than that.
Friends are great, too. Maybe your post will tempt me to watch Joey.

Yeah, Allo Allo is funny, but Family Guy and Joey rules:]
P.s. If you like old British comedies you just must watch "Fawlty Towers"

      Hello.
Unfortunately I didn't have much time recently to watch TV series.
My favourite always will be "Alf" ;)
But I would like to recommend you a nice movie/TV series forum in English:

"Only fools and horses", "Blackadder", "Monty Python", "Yes, (Prime) Minister", etc.

      Friends just won't compare...
      • Gość: benek Re: British comedy rules!!! IP: *.neoplus.adsl.tpnet.pl 13.03.05, 21:30
I'd add to this list "Fawlty Towers" definitley. Manuel is just amazing:]

Black Adder is great, too. I especially liked the episodes with Adder as a
        servant and missing stockings;)

South Park is absolutely and definitely outstanding. I admire those guys. Maybe
for a moment they ran out of steam, but in the new series (7and8) SP came back
        with a vengeance!

I forgot to mention "The 70's Show". Have you seen this one?

Absolutely the best - American "Seinfeld" - for those who don't know it - it's
the show about nothing, however, in almost every episode you can find yourself
and the familiar situations. There are four friends who are trying to cope with
daily problems and the things they are talking about, the problems they have -
are all familiar to everybody. Every episode is about a different situation.
          It's just awesome.

I passionately hated that show and was celebrating a few years ago when it
finally ended. I'm not considered normal by my friends ;)
            I like Everybody Loves Raymond.

Little Britain. :))) The main characters - all played by Matt Lucas - include
a juvenile delinquent Vicky Pollard, an evil FatFighters course leader (a
fattist if there ever was one), a wheel-chair bound Andy who doesn't need the
wheelchair at all - only his friend who looks after him doesn't know this,
Daffyd Thomas - the only gay in the village (in Wales) and others - all as
      politically incorrect as can be...

There is nothing to celebrate, there are still reruns which I watch religiously.
Funny you should say you hate this show. I didn't like it at first myself but
then fell in love with it. I had lots of "Seinfeld moments" myself. Most people
say that it's the best sitcom ever.
Everybody loves Raymond - isn't funny enough for me, but maybe it's just me. I'm
very demanding when it comes to humour. Besides, Raymond's voice is annoying.

But at least there aren't making new ones ;)

I guess there is still hope for me then :))

In my humble opinion the best sitcom ever is "All in the family".
That show couldn't be made today. Too politically incorrect.
      • Gość: lilka Re: The best comedian series IP: *.bchsia.telus.net 14.03.05, 07:30
Yeah, you should force yourself to watch it (I did because my husnband was
watching it) and you will be surprised at how fast you'll fall in love with it :)
    • chris-joe Re: The best comedian series 14.03.05, 11:22
When it comes to sitcoms, I used to like "Ellen" a lot. DeGeneres' stand-up
acts along with Margaret Cho's made me laugh the laugh I didn't even know I
      could laugh :)
Among the non-sitcoms I used to be pretty religious about "Sex And The City".

As far as the Brit-com goes, my all time fave is "Ab Fab", and some episodes of
      "French And Saunders".

Tell me what you watch and I'll tell you who you are?:)))

I whatch Monty Python and Family Guy (even more freaking sarcastic and
        irrational than the first one).

Oh, and I just can't stand M Jak Miłość

        Who am I then?;)

          • chris-joe Re: comedian???? 14.03.05, 19:52

Well, my English isn't perfect, that's why I'm talking here instead of
discussion on a Polish-language forum:) I meant "seriale komediowe";)
            • chris-joe Re: comedian???? 14.03.05, 21:38
sitcoms= situation comedy (in N.Am. English, as I'm sure the Brits call it
              something else)
              • Gość: benek Re: comedian???? IP: *.neoplus.adsl.tpnet.pl 14.03.05, 22:27

I can't wait for a new series called The Office. I've seen previews and they've
looked pretty funny to me. Is it true this is a US version of a British show? I
only hope it will be better than Coupling, which was a disaster. Dialogues were
completely retarded. Who could even write anything like that?
"A: Can I get some soda? B: Sure if you blow me".
      Cheers!
