Somehow I just knew the colonialists would throw in their two cents... ;))

              Cheers, mate! :p

You mean someone would throw in a penny's worth, don't you?
Oh, all right, lets allow for inflation - two pence ;)

              Icing. Glaze on ham.
              • ms.jones Re: polewa 19.06.05, 22:02
although doughnuts are glazed ( eg Krispy Kreme's Original Glazed)
                and iced too

eg: Krispy Krem's chocolate iced glazed cruller and maple iced glazed :)

You guys have those too. My tongue is hanging down to my knees right now. :)
                  • ms.jones Re: polewa 19.06.05, 22:23
We've had them for over a year. Criminal neglect and deprivation if you ask me.

what do you mean by that? :)
                      • ms.jones Re: polewa 19.06.05, 23:23
They came to Britain sometime in 2003 - I had no idea what we were missing/how
                        good they are!
                        • kylie1 Re: polewa 19.06.05, 23:35
Well, we've had them here for about that long too. They are a new franchise
from the States and very successful! We also have our Canadian "Tim Horton's" (
after the hockey player...already dead, Bless his soul) and they are just as
                          good. Hm hm hm...
                          :)

They filed for bankruptcy protection in Canada a couple of months ago and now
                            it's for sale.

That goes to show that we value our Canadian product. I find Krispy Kreme too
rich. Maybe it's just me but Tim Bits still rule! ::))
                              • axxolotl Re: polewa 20.06.05, 03:11
Right. Besides, I don't even have Krispy in my town, but they are gooood :)

            > frosting to raczej krem tortowy,

Podaję za KFD: "polewa, lukier, polewa z lukru" ;)))

Dla mnie, jako MCP, takie subtelności nie mają znaczenia. Wazne, aby zrobił to kto inny i aby było słodkie ;))
    • axxolotl Re: polewa 19.06.05, 20:37
      icing
      but donuts are glazed
      • kylie1 Re: polewa 19.06.05, 21:55
True. Doughnuts are glazed. Glaze has a thin smooth shiny coating. Doughnut
glaze is made of icing sugar. Ham can be glazed too but it's a mixture of the
meat sauce and cornstarch. It's also shiny in texture. But you can't put icing
or frosting on the ham or any other meat.( well, I guess you can but I don't
think you would like it. :)
Icing/frosting is made out of confectionary sugar. And that's what goes on
        pastries. Glaze does too.
        ::)
