Brand new idea - what do you think of it?

I'm an English teacher in gimnazjum. Two weeks ago I created a blogsite which was designed for my students aged 13-15. The purpose of it is to encourage them to write in English and put this language into real practise. Ten of them have already decided to join the blog and to write four posts a month. (some of the posts are mine, signed Krzysztof Plocha) I teach in a public gimnazjum for ordinary students. They make mistakes but hope to be better in future and, first of all, they are aware of the fact that English is immanent part of today's life.
I'm not a member of any organisation etc. My main and the only reason is to help them in English.

I'm writing here because I would like to ask you for help. Can you visit that site www.e-playground.blogspot.com and write some 'warm' comments, back them up or encourage to better work?

Hi English teacher, it should be 'practice' not 'practise'.

It's not so obvious - 'practice' equals 'pracitse' in US English. BTW, I'm disagreeably surprised that you're only capable of such remarks.

Coś podobnego! Zawsze myślałam, że "practice" to rzeczownik, a
"practise" - czasownik.
Kiedy to się zmieniło?

I like the idea, but I also have some serious doubts. What about correcting the mistakes? It's good to encourage kids to write, but it's also important to teach them how to do it right. If you leave the entries unedited, other students will think that they're OK, and as a result, they'll start making the same mistakes. I don't think that's what you hope to achieve with this blog.

Your doubts are reasonable because there's such a danger that other students will learn improper English. On the other hand, believe me or not but students don't trust each other when they take English into consideration. I haven't written that yet that we're going to correct these posts together i discuss alee the changes needed. As I wrote - we're an ordinary school and such an idea is something challenging for them - some of them don't have computers at home.
Finally, thanks for your post and your opinion. I hope it'll be better day by day!

natychmiast krytykowany. Nie POPRAWIANY, tylko wyszydzany. "Practice" PANIE
NAUCZYCIELU." A nie wystarczylo powiedziec, ze powinno byc przez "c"?
Powodzenia w nowatorskim przedsiewzieciu:) Niech dzieciaki najpierw zobacza ze
sa w stanie komunikowac sie po angielsku, a potem martwia o spelling mistakes.

Naturally, one expects spelling mistakes from the kids but not from
their teacher, that's all. But clearly, there are teachers and ...
there are teachers. I do not find constructive criticism harmful.

What do you do for a living? The only thing you noticed is my spelling mistake. Mistake? Visit www.merriam-webster.com/ and type 'practice', then as a noun and find its variants, Mr Boastful.
BTW, do you like finding mistakes and advance the thesis that there are teachers and teachers? And what does 'constructive criticism' mean for you? What have you constructed? Yes, there are more people who don't like you. Congratulations!

proof reader among other things, hence good eye for spotting
mistakes.

Dzięki za wsparcie. Trudno, liczę się ze swoimi literówkami i osobami, którzy 'czatują' na czyjąś 'niekompetencję'. To są z reguły problemy z osobowością, ponieważ naiwnością byłoby traktowanie tego jako pomocy. Na studiach też tacy byli,pamietam. Każdego dnia liczba osób, które miały ich dość (razm z wykładowcami) wzrastała dramatycznie.
Oczekiwałem na coś innego.np komentarz agi.p.p jest cenny, chociaż mam odmienne zdanie. Również Twój, aleksandrawu jest cenny.

PS. A teraz gratka dla steph13. W tym poście popełniłem kilka literówek, popełniłem kilka błędów stylistycznych a od interpunkcyjnych aż się roi! Anglista, który ma problemy z językiem ojczystym...steph13, proszę, udziel mi konstruktywnej krytyki!!!

boooring, boooring. why don't you just comment on the kids' post on
the blog like the teacher asked and leave the poor guy alone. You
were a teacher once, so teach the pupils not the tutor. Extend him
some professional courtesy and respect, and if you feel compelled to
correct him do it sensitively and in private.

it's not actually brand new, but still... very good!

by saying that it's not brand new I mean "diary journal" technique,
quite similar (differs only in one respect - it uses written
diaries, not blogs and it's a pupil-teacher interaction, more
personal and private)
