Hi, my child will born in july. I live in Poland and father of my child lives
in England (he is an englishman) but he works in Poland for last 3 years as an
english teacher. We are not mariage. What documents should i get for my child
to get for him english passport? And is it possible to get child benefit from
England if i stay in Poland? I don't really know where to find the answers, so
it will be great if you can help me.

Yes, I think it is possible for you to claim child benefit. Please
check this piece below for some background information:

      www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=483225&in_page_id=1770

And ask your English partner to read through the UK government child
      benefit site:

      www.direct.gov.uk/en/Parents/Moneyandworkentitlements/YourMoney/DG_10016699?cids=Google_PPC&cre=Money

You may also be able to claim tax credits too:

      www.dwp.gov.uk/international/sa29/benefits_12.asp
I hope this helps. Best, :)

"Jonny" .. just to remind you goodie goodie teachers - that this
country is not a free for all state for Poles to claim untold amount
of benefits whilst sitting in their flat in the arse end of nowhere
in the middle of Poland. Benefits are for people who are working
here in the UK and paying their taxes. Child benefit is for
everybody who has children in the UK to help with the costs of
raising children here and not in Poland. this response is from the
English husband of Gosia .. who is frankly sick and tired of
listening to ALL POLES moaning about their lack of benefits .. and i
heard in the news yesterday that all Poles were leaving - the
website they are looking for is www.ryanair.com or some excellent
        polish coach service.

P.S - why could the lady in desperate need of UK benefits not ask
her English boyfriend/baby's father to find out the info instead of
        writing to dear Jonny!

I don't think your partner will be able to claim Child Benefit
whilst working and living in Poland. As rightly pointed out
by "Gosiah's Husband", the purpose of Child Benefit is to help with
the costs of bringing up a child in the UK. There are some
provisions for children TEMPORARILY living abroad while their
parents work in the UK, however this proviso doesn't apply to your
          situation.

Sometimes (well, maybe all the time?)I am embaressed to admit I am
Pole becasue I hear all the time about Poles leaving off the
government benefits. However you have to admit, English husband of
Gosia, that there are plenty of English people who actually leave
and bring up children off benefits and the reason for this is that
they are simply lazy! It is so annoying especially that I pay my tax
every month! So, there are lazy people all around the world - in
          Poland, England, everywhere.
