Problems with large migration to the UK

Hi Everybody!
I posted on this forum a while back and I'm coming back here with a link that
I found on ebay's discussion forum.

I am not sure if this is the right place to ask this since this forum deals
with foreigners in Poland. Well, I'll try anyway. Dave, if my posts violates
any rules,please remove it. Since there are many people from Britain on this
forum ,I thought that we can have a interesting conversation.

There sees to be a heated discussion regarding Poles and Eastern Europeans
arriving in great numbers in Britain. The posts from the English posters are
very negative towards the newcomers. I wonder if this is just some disgruntled
stay-home moms or does their opinion really reflect the slice of the British
population?

I'm happy with your post. Mind you, these days I'm happy with ANY
posts on here, so that's not saying much.


I believe that the British are happy with the Poles in England and
would far rather have them than the non-Europeans, especially the
non-Christian non-Europeans.

There are various issues here. And it gets pretty complicated.

Romas - Strange how these people never want to fit in anywhere and
it's always everybody else's fault. Can't people just get used to
begging, filth and anti-social behaviour??

Bangladeshis - outstanding in that they actually manage to
outperform every other group apart from Somalis in terms of
educational underachievement and uptake of all social services
including free public housing. Somalis pride themselves on their
ability to fight with deadly weapons - a unique sellling point.

Or is it? Going geopolitical for a moment, after working for some
time in Brussels prior to the Kosovo war, I realised that the Serbs
had a point. Fine, Kosovo had an Albanian majority, but you've got
to keep these people under control somehow. Kosovars have an
excellent track record in drugs, guns and prostitution. Great
people to import en masse to fight it out on the streets with the
Jamaicans.

And then the Daily Mail gets its facts wrong ... and everyone gets
confused and angry.

I've been wondering myself about how Poles are perceived and
welcomed in England. There has been a huge migration from Poland and
other Eastern European countries...
I was born in Warsaw but have lived most of my life in the USA. I
was approached by a London-based recruiter recently. In theory it
would be great to work in London as I would be able to visit Poland
more frequently. But I also read stories about knife attacks and
other crimes committed on immigrants.
I was recently on vacation in Rome and was hit on my back while
riding the streetcar. When I turned around, an old lady was looking
at me and complaining about immigrants. So I'm just wondering
whether something is changing in Europe.... I never had any such
problems in America in my 20 years here....
