W Egipcie wychodzi gazeta Al-Ahram, z anglojezycznym tygodnikiem Al-Ahram
Weekly. Ma bardzo wysoki poziom intelektualny i swietne analizy politologiczne
robione z punktu widzenia nacjonalizmu arabskiego. Czyta ja caly Persian Gulf.
Sa oczywiscie antyizraelscy, antyamerykanscy i pro-palestynscy. Pamietam, ze w
przeddzien wybuchu wojny w Afganistanie napisali w editorialu, ze "clash of
civilisations" juz sie zaczal. Tak jak amerykanskie dzienniki maja sekcje 'war
on terror', tak oni maja 'special report on intifada'. Niemniej ich glowny
komentator Hani Shukrallah napisal artykul 'Reflections. Ultimate sacrifice' a
w nim taki fragment:
