cabbage patch is where babies are found - grzadka kapusty. czyli "cabbage patch
kids" - dzieciaki z grzadki kapusty

A patch is a scrap of land. So a cabbage patch is a scrap of land where cabbage
is grown. In Poland it is said that new babies are brought by a stork. But in
other countries people find their new kids in a cabbage patch :)

I don't think that these toys should have a Polish name. It's a trademark, like
Lego, Barbie, Transformers or Muppets. But if you like you can have a go
with "kapuściane dzieci" but it doesn't really make sense as nobody
        says "bocianowe dzieci", right?

In Poland new babies are also found among cabbage leaves, believe me, that's
          where I found mine ;-)
