Niedlugo watek

25.06.11, 05:33
nr. 80 000, czyli uroczysty.

Miejmy nadzieje, ze nie bedzie to kretynizm w rodzaju "co znaczy vinly cutter plotters".

Prosze autorow o podniesienie poziomu pytan. Pamietam jednak, ze jeden mechanik samochodowy z Wroclawia mawial ze "hope is the mother of the stupid".

Uklony z letniej Kanady.

Czekajac na Karula prosze o zgrabne i eleganckie przetlumaczenie Lapidii "szafa gra".
        • smutas Re: Niedlugo watek 27.06.11, 03:45
Ja bym powiedzial: "juke-box is on" (;-)), "alive and kickin' ", "up and running" - wszystko zalezy od kontekstu. Albo za google "wardrobe game!" :-)

A powaznie, ciekawy tez jestem jak by to przetlumaczyc by oddac smaczek tego zwrotu ...

"up and running", jako reprezentacje polskiego "szafa gra".

potoczne wyrazenie, uzywane przez starych i mlodych.
= that's it, as simple as that

Phrase dictionary: Used to describe the means of straightforwardly obtaining a successful result. For example, 'left over right; right over left, and bob's your uncle - a reef knot'.

              sorry :)

              pozdrawiam z 33 stopni upalu

I thought that English people begin to sweat above 72 degrees F ,33 C must be a total meltdown

This phrase is totally unknown to 300 million Americans (well, 150M , the rest are illiterate).
In some quarters they say "he is no my husband, he is my uncle".

33 C, shock to the system, it's not pretty. 2-3 weeks ago we had to put our central heating on.
Today, trains have been cancelled because of power lines overheating.
But this is the only country in the world where the appearance of the sun at Wimbledon makes front page news 8-)

                  Let's not hijack karul's thread.

about a Canadian. In Ontario we are having a very comfortable 25 degrees during the day and cool nights. No sweat yet, which I hate. I just came back from Iceland where the temperature in early June was barely 10, plus their terrible wind, so everything is relative.

The young royals from Britain are coming to Ottawa and I will not be among the crowds welcoming them.

                    Cheers!

Relatively, energy still equals mc2, studiowalem, hobbysticznie teorie wzglednosci, nie mam problmow. The quantum theory, on the other hand, as much as I understated it, tsk! I think Richard Feynman said it best (paraphrasing)...If you don't think, that quantum theory is totally weird, you don't know quantum theory.

Richard Feynman is my favored scientist, he also said:

"Science is like sex: sometimes something useful comes out, but that is not the reason we are doing it. " >
