Therfore:

not exactly...

there are two possibilities here:

(1) "the majority of them" means the same as several or many of them,
or many people, and we would say "the majority of them like..."

(2) "the majority" also means a GROUP (of people, of voters, etc),
in which case "the majority likes" would be correct
