methinks 04.10.03, 21:51 the word YOSEMITE (it's a national park in the USA)? Would it be something like "jousemajt"? Or maybe "jousimajt"? Or maybe the "s" is voiced, more like "z"? Thanks for help. Odpowiedz Link Zgłoś Obserwuj wątek Podgląd Opublikuj

If you use Polish "ł" the accent should be written before the accented syllable resulting in [joł'semiti]. At the same time according to British and American-English pronunciation key Yosemite would be [yOsem´itE] or [yow'semitee] or [Yo-sem'-e-tee]. Odpowiedz Link Zgłoś
el_presidente666 Re: How do you pronounce... 05.10.03, 12:22 I didn't know such an ambiguity exists, but yes - I should have written "jołSEmiti" or perhaps "jołSEmyti", because it's clear-cut. Odpowiedz Link Zgłoś

Wpisz, kliknij co trzeba i sluchaj. josemity z akcentem na "se". Pamietaj tez, ze "i" jest nieco blizsze polskiemu "y", a "y" nieco blizsze polskiemu "i". Tak wiec brzmi to troche jak "joSEmyti".
