Is it correct?

"Maria lives close from her office". This is the sentence from one of the
tests. In my opinion it sounds better:"Maria lives far from her office". Is
it correct to say "close from"???

So where does Maria live exactly? Close from her office or far from her
      office? ;)

          close to

            or "near"

I agree with your suggestions; I also think it should be rather "close to".
That is why this sentence sounds strange for me. But according to answer from
one of the tests, it should be "Maria lives close from office".
      Nevertheless thanks for your opinion

Then the test answer is absolutely wrong!
This is not correct at all. You do not live close from something, but close to
something. Far from is correct but not close from. This appears to be a
        literal translation from Polish.

But you could say that something is "close from here".
For example, I'm waiting with a friend at a bus stop and we are wondering where
something is, let's say, a bookstore. I can say "it's close from here",
meaning 'the bookstore in question is not too far from this bus stop we are at.'

Of course you could always say just that: "it's not too far from here."

In this matter the English language is very precise.
      CLOSE TO, FAR FROM.
