Właśnie wróciłam ze Stanów po dwóch latach pobytu, poza tym spędziłam ok pół
roku w Londynie. W następnym roku podchodzę do CAE. Miałam już to zrobić kilka
lat wcześniej, ale przez te wyjazdy nie miałam czasu. W Stanach zdawałam
TOEFL. Najchętniej podjełabym się nauczania kogoś z poziomu od podstawowego do
średnio-zaawansowanego. Dzieci mile widziane. Gramatyka + konwersacje.
Udzielam korepetycji od 5 lat. Wolałabym dojeżdzać do klienta niezbyt daleko.

Dlaczego ?
Przeciez cae, ktory pewnie zda z palcem w uchu, jest uznawany przez MEN dla
nauczycieli uczacych poczatkujacych . Ja nie twierdze, ze tak powinno byc, ale
takie sa realia, a dziewczyna nie podejmuje sie uczyc zaawansowanych.
Moze Ty, VIPie, skonczyles anglistyke, siedziales w Anglii na stypendium
nie wiadomo ile , jestes gosciu i kasujesz za godzine 60 zl albo wiecej, ale
sa ludzie, ktorzy chca sie za sensowna cene po prostu nauczyc porozumiewac i
dla nich Agnieszka moglaby byc dobrym wyborem ( jesli ma dar bozy do uczenia,
rzecz jasna).

CAE entitles to teaching in high school, as far as I know.
However, it's not the issue, I guess.

You may not have sufficient certificates and be a successful teacher with
languge competency, and similarly, you may have done your degree in English
and be a hopeless teacher with poor language skills (really, it happens).

The point is to be willing to develop your skills and improve them
permanently. The teacher won't claim to have learnt the language, and now the
time to teach has come. The teacher keeps learning as well, notices the
mistakes, is eager to work on these, enriches the vocabulary range, reads
books in English and/or the press. And only this kind of person has the right
attitude. Once you treat yourself as a student, you can understand better the
needs of your students, and help them to make progress.

English department produces a lot of incompetent alumni. They get the
confidence that the English department is the only place where one can learn
the language at a high level. They seem to reckon that only there can you
acquire the proper accent by means of drills during phonetics classes, etc.
And finally the degree guarantees that you have learnt English and you're a
professional and there aren't people who are better speakers... Your role as
student is over, and now you're gonna play a different role, namely teaching.

CAE nie uprawnia do nauki w żadnej szkole. Jest uznawany jako egzamin
kwalifikujący do uczenia w szkołach, jeżeli ewentualny nauczyciel nie ukończył
studiów kierunkowych (anglistyki, lingwistyki itp) POD WARUNKIEM uzupełnienia
kwalifikacji pedagogicznych i metodycznych.
Właśnie to robię :), więc wiem. W środę 10 grudnia CAE, obecnie studia
podyplomowe pedagogiczne na Uniwersytecie Warszawskim, w przyszłym roku kurs
metodyczny w CODN. Za rok planuję CPE. Nie ma lekko.
Angielski znam bardzo dobrze, bo chodziłam do szkół (publicznych!) w USA,
Anglii, Arabii Saudyjskiej.
Korepetycje/konwersacje - nawet nie mam jak udzielać, bo mam 7 miesięczne
dziecko w domu, chyba, że komuś nie przeszkadza rozmowa na podłodze, albo jakaś
mama na macierzyńskim/wychowawczym chce się uczyć, to zapraszam.

Po co Ci ten CAE ???!!!
Sadzisz, ze nie mozesz od razu zdawac Proficiency ?
Z tego, co wiem, nie ma wymogu CAE przed tym egzaminem, ale moze sie myle.
No, ale moja rada jest po ptokach, bo egzaminy sie zaczely :-))
Czy moglabys slow pare o tym kursie metodycznym, bo sama jestem zainteresowana
w przyszlosci (skonczylam kierunek humanistyczny z przygotowaniem
pedagogicznym,
ale obecnie beznadziejnie malo poszukiwany)?
Czy to prawda, ze po proficiency mozna uczyc w szkole jezykowej ?
Slyszalam. ze tak, ale wierzyc mi sie nie chce (przyjaciolka ma takie ambitne
plany).
Jesli chodzi o uczenie sie jakiegokolwiek jezyka na wychowawczym, swietna
sprawa, polecam, bo i taniej i na luzie. Rzuc pomyslem na edziecko!

Powinnam była od razu robić CPE, ale mnie postraszono, że raz rodowita Angielka
3 x go oblała. Głupia baba ze mnie i tyle.
Nie wiem, jak to jest z nauką w szkołach językowych...
Co do kursu metodycznego też jeszcze się dokładnie nie dowiadywałam - wiem, że
np w Warszawie prowadzi takowe Centralny Ośrodek Doskonalenia Nauczycieli.
A możśe i faktycznie napiszę na e-dziecku :)

If you claim to have spent 2 years in the US, how come don't you feel up to
teaching at all stages? Either you can speak the language properly or you
can't. Being a teacher willing to teach grammar you should be familiar with
grammar rules, I guess, so what's this selection for? Only till intermediate
level...

Why don't you even place your advert in English so that prospective students
could at least get a sample of your English?
What methodes do you use while teaching? What do you mean
grammar+converstions? What about listening comprehension, reading, writing?

Finally, children should be taught by best teachers who will help them develop
the right habits in the new language, and won't daunt them so that they will
hate English till the end of their life.

Just try it, Agnes. Teaching is a kind of learning yourself. If you
responsible person you'll find quickly how hard your job is and most its

cos sie do tej dziewczyny tak przyczepila odpusc jej.
zarzut nieumieszczenia tego ogloszenia po angielsku jest chybiony bo przeciez
osoby chcace skorzystac z jej uslug nie znaja angielskiego, wiec jak mialyby

I can't believe it's all about me!!!
All right - time to defend myself.
I don't claim I don't speak english properly because I decided to teach people
with intermediate level. I just don't have sufficient certificates to teach
people with higher level. If you wanted to be taught language by anyone on the
higher level I'm sure you would love to ask for my qualifications, am I right?
Anyway I don't take for a lesson 60 zl, as I said it's cheap but only because
I don't have qualifications to be a teacher.
Conversations (not "convertions" as you said) don't mean speaking only but
listening, reading and writing, too. "Grammar+conversations" means that I'm
flexible teacher and I can teach from different points.
Don't worry so much about kids. This part is especially mine. I used to teach
many kids with a great success, which I'm fond of.
I hope you are satisfied with my short explanation. If not - I'll be glad to
answer any question you wish.

Sure, I've been teaching english for about 4 years. I used to teach in
Piotrków (the city where I come from), in Katowice (where I spent 5 years
studying). Now I moved to Warsaw and that's why you see my advert here. But go
on people - just call me and don't ask so many questions.

I think your original skill assessment was correct. You should stick to kids.

It is English not 'english'.
Piotrkow is a town not 'a city'.

the town (that/which) I come from not 'where I come from'.
Now I have moved not 'Now I moved'
come on/go ahead not 'go on'

I won't go to your previous post which is of about the same quality.

You will have to work hard on your grammar if you want to pass CAE exam anytime
soon. I think FCE would be more appropriate for a start.
