New Years Eve Party started at exacly 9 p.m. I went with Gosia to my friend -
agnieszka. There were 20 persons. They were my friends from Gymnasium. We
ate delicious food made by Agnieszka, talked for hours and danced. We also
went for a walk. We looked at fireworks and we folded best wishes. Then, we
came back to Agnieszka's flat and we drank a champagne. All danced so long,
directly had strengths. Our ended at 7 a.m. We had a great fun and I hope
that the next New Year's eve Party will be as succesful as this year's.

A ja bym zostawiła 'gymnasium' - jak podają słowniki jest to 'a type of high
school in some European countries.
Może nie dokładnie to samo, ale w końcu nasz system jest też inny niż brytyjski
czy amerykański.

Ale u nas to nie jest "high school"

Ja bym nie zostawił. Zgodnie z definicją jest to "a European secondary school
that prepares students for the university" , tak więc w naszej rzeczywistości
jednostka szkolnictwa o nazwie "gimnazjum" takim celom nie służy.
Zresztą "gymnasium" jest to rozwinięta forma "gym" czyli sali gimnastycznej.

Problem: nie chcę amerykańskiego tłumaczenia. Może w tym pierwszym wątku, kiedy
jest to praca domowa 'junior high school'.
Ale jeśli cały tekst będzie w British English, to 'junior high school' będzie
tam nie na miejscu. Więc co?

Możesz jeszcze użyć "Middle School" - jest to etap na poziomie Secondary
Education w GB, dzieciaki w wieku 13-14 lat, to by było nasze polskie
gimnazjum. Ale czy to ma sens? W końcu nie piszesz eseju o systemach
szkolnictwa, tak więc najbardziej na miejscu wydaje się samo "school friends"
jak Alex proponuje.

to Junior High (nie znam brytyjskiego odpowiednika)a mozesz poprostu
powiedziec "my friends from school" or "my school friends"

The New Year's Eve Ball Drop started exactly at nine in the evening.
I went with Gosia to Agnieszka's place; there were about twenty of us, a gang
of old schoolmates. Agnieszka prepared plenty of delicious food for us to
feast on. Then we danced, and talked, and danced, and talked. Just before
midnight, we decided to go out for a walk and see a fireworks show.
The popping of crackers and colorful bursts of light made a memorable setting
for exchanging wishes for the coming new year. We hugged and kissed a lot.
Feeling better already, we returned to Agnieszka's, drank champagne (how old
are you, dammit?) and danced, and danced, until we dropped at about seven in
the morning. We were exhausted, but we had oodles of fun
