I'm due to fly to Warsaw on 'BD' in early July- when I commented (moaned ) to
my PA about booking me on LOT - the usual - 'but its british Midland' answer
was given.
Does anyone have any experience of Lot ex LHR in Y?
As a *G can I expect anything different?
I also presume it will take an age for my miles to credit?
Any tips to hurry this up?

LOT are fine. You'll be in a 737 (not the next-gen ones, the one before),
which is generally in OK condition. Seats are average. Service is better than
most Western European carriers. If you're in C, it's a disappointment, as
they often don't block the centre seats. (It's 3+3).
*G will get you C check-in and DC lounge access. I think they use LH's
reservation system, so you may well get the seat next to you blocked if
possible.
As for crediting miles, it's never taken longer than 3 days for me.

LOT is what LH refers to as a "fully integrated partner", meaning it uses all
of LH's computer system, and even the LH mileage programme.
You should get you miles very quickly (as if you had taken an LH flight).
BD handle LOT departures (check in is just behind the main BD check in area,
in Zone C at Terminal 1. You can also check in at Paddington.

LOT is surprisingly quite good. (Admittedly, I've only flown ex-BRU on the
145.) The food is very decent for Y. I liked the bread personally
