Former Polish President and Solidarity trade union leader Lech Walesa has
accepted a management position from the US-based business software company
NuTech Solutions, his advisors said Monday.
"Mr. Walesa accepted at the end of last month an invitation from NuTech
Solutions to become one of its directors," the head of the Lech Walesa
Institute, Piotr Gulczynski, told AFP.
The Charlotte, North Carolina-based company is a supplier of data mining and
predictive analysis software for multinational companies and the US defense
department.
Two of the company's three founders are Polish-American, and the company has a
branch in Poland.
"Informatics was always my passion. I hope to be able to return to it now with
this opportunity," Walesa told the Polish edition of Newsweek.
An electrician by training, Walesa became the leader of the Solidarity trade
union that pushed the communists peacefully from power in Poland in 1989.
