Ponizszy cytat pochodzi z artykulu w "The World in 2002" opublikowanego
przez renomowany brytyjski tygodnik "The Economist". Ciezko bedzie mu zarzucic
sianie pro-kanadyjskiej propagandy, ale pewnie znajda sie na tym forum ludzie
ktorzy to zrobia. Zycze milej lektury !
WHAT'S YOUR RANK?
The world just loves league tables. In 2002 there will be thousands of organizations
producing statistics, charts and tables, most of them delightfully bogus. The human
development index, produced by the United Nations, has the grandest sweep: it measures
nothing less than overall quality of life. In 2002, European countries will dominate,
along with Japan, the United States and Australia. It is Canada that will be out in
front again though, with its people enjoying a fantastic quality of life. African states
will fill all of the bottom 20 places. Again.
Money doesn't buy everything though. Sweden is ranked sixth in terms of human
Development, but only 21st in the league that measures GDP per head. Singapore is
8th in this GDP league but only 24th in the human development one (...)
Nie wiem jak dla innych ale dla mnie "a fantastic quality of life" wystarczy.... ttc
