"The controversy arose when Wilson wrote an op-ed column in The New York
Times saying that he had been sent by the CIA in February 2002 to investigate
charges that Iraq was trying to buy uranium from the African country of
Niger. Wilson said he had found no evidence to support the claim. Wilson's
column was an early attack on the evidence used by the Bush administration to
justify going to war in Iraq. The White House wished to discredit Wilson and
his attacks."
Na jakiej podstawie Bialy Dom "wished to discredit Wilson"? Ogolnie wiadomo
ze "going to war in Iraq" oparte bylo na falszywych powodach. Dlaczego
starano sie "discredit Wilson"? Mysle ze dokladna odpowiedz na to pytanie zna
kazdy z tych milych facetow, tylko Bush pewnie nie zna odpowiedzi, on im
sluzy do tego zeby ... nie wiedziec.
George W. Bush, at a press conference with European Union dignitaries,
Washington, D.C., June 20, 2005
"The relations with, uhh — Europe are important relations, and they've, uhh —
because, we do share values. And, they're universal values, they're not
American values or, you know — European values, they're universal values. And
those values — uhh — being universal, ought to be applied everywhere." —
