Legal copy - not what you think

what can it be if it CANNOT be a copy of something (e.g. software) you make
for backup purposes?
the context is the following: 'the container lacks a legal copy or the copy
is incorrect'
any ideas what is missing?

my only guess is that they mean the hologram label put on many products to
ensure they are genuine, but that's a wild guess really.

No, not really - I mean the school. Mine was a few... hundred kilometres away
from yours;) And it was always uphill... But then the walking distance for me
to do (over 10 km) made me sort of strong, and ready to deal with this and
that;) Now, for the time being I'm in this most wonderful place, and that of
course makes me haunt some other forums ... at times
