I'm sorry that you think Poland "means nothing in the world". If you are so
ashamed of being Polish, then perhaps you should give up your Polish
citizenship. I too am Polish (however obviuosly much more proud of it than you)
and I live in the US. I however, have not experienced people laughing at
Poland...perhaps it is you they are laughing at?

My experience has been almost the exact opposite of yours. I have found that
people in the US do not think the world is safer since the war in Iraq. They may
feel that they are safer, but they also see images of near daily bombings on tv
that tell them that the rest of the world is not safer.

So... don't judge the entire country, but speak for yourself.

Well, I don't care much about Gogus but what he said about Poles in Iraq is
unfortunately true. I live in the States and people here had a lot of fun when
Bush said "He forgot about Poland!". I'm serious; it's sad but true. It might
be that you guys just love the Americans to much.... BTW, I'm Polish and I'm
proud of it.

the point is that indians have a reason to like and understand america (good
jobs),

regarding your proudness of being from poland i can't help but think that
someone can be proud only for someones action not just for 'being',

nobody can be proud for being tall, blond, homosexual or being born in any
given country unless one did something to be tall, blond, homosexual or citizen
of a certain country,

bottom line: you can be proud of being an american citizen (provided you've
applied for it) but you can't be proud of being polish unless you did something
special to be one.

China's record on human rights makes a lot of people feel ashamed to be Chinese
when they are asked about it. They feel it even if personally they had nothing
to do with it. It might not be logical, well - it isn't, but what's logic got
to do with how people really feel?

of course one can & should be ashamed of personally abusing other men but never
of action of another man or government,

Yeah, that’s for certain sure. Especially those who lived or these who have
been living around the well known Union Carbide plant have plenty of reasons to
love the USA.

Your assumption than the Indians have a good reason to “like and understand
America” just because of that Bangalore thing or the (in)famous call centers is
nothing but pure absurd. The folks down there are cheap labor, that’s about it.
They aren’t “the chosen people of God”, they’re simply the cheapest ones. Some
of them speak English, but I can assure you, their accent is so weird that a
common Joe usually doesn’t make head or tail of what they say. By the way, the
Indians who I know don't love the Americans at all.

im talking about physisians, small business owners, engineers & high tech.
workers flooding in the thousands to silicon valley in california & other
places,

i guess we're mixing in different social circles but i was in india too & can
assure you they don't cal themselves 'cheap or unchosen people',

if anything they compete furiously to work for any american company, be it in
india or usa,
