Most people enjoy going to the ZOO and looking at the animals - but do the
animals enjoy it? I think they are often unhappy and unhalthy. In my opinion
it is completely wrong to keep animals in ZOOs.
First of all, it is cruel to take away an animal's freedom. They are often
kept alone in small cages, they can't move freely! Many animals become so
bored and unhappy that they die. animals are living creatures so they ought
to live at large. Natural environment provides them with all essential
elements needed to survive. Although a lot of people know that they must not
interfere with nature, they catch animals and place them in a zoo for money.
It is also the case that animals need appropriate conditions, for instance:
proper food, a place to sleep, wide free space and of course care. It is true
that people can to some extent secure living conditions, but it is usually
not enough.
On the other hand the ZOO could be helpful in case of endangered species.
These rare animals have got more chances to survive and avoid extinction.
All in all, I think that we should try to create more reserves, where animals
will live in the wild.
