With out knowing what this is all about it will be very hard to guess what the
author intention was.
Pivot means a point on which something turns. However, there is also one more
meaning of the word pivot, which is CENTRAL POINT. I am guessing that in this
case the central point was the intended use, so the pivot support would
then mean main,key or primary support.
