compared to what they speak in Glasgow it's perfect.

I once spent a week hitchhiking with a Glaswegian in France. I latched on to
him since he was the owner of a kilt, the ultimate hitchhiking device.
during that time neither myself nor anyone we met on our strange and very rapid
journey accross France not once understood a single word he uttered. not even
      a "yes" or a "no".
he, on the other hand understood me perfectly, or so it seemed - he could even
understand French. or so it seemed.
if you want to hear the best English spoken in the Isles hoist yourself up
further North, somewhere around Inverness and beyond. the towns are beautiful,
the landscapes stunning and the English is perfect.
      erwas.

well, i've been in scotland one year, it was quite long time ago, though, so
pardon me for any mistakes. Anyway, I hadn't been during that time in Glasgow,
i've been to the north, i stayed in Inverness. it's very nice place to see, and
best place on the north of Scotland to jump from to other places, like Museum
of Loch Ness Monster(about 20 miles from Inverness), Island of Skye, or Castle
Cowdor, it a castle of Makbet (also about 20 miles from there). Personally i
enjoyed most just driving across this beautyfull, wilde, strange country. So if
you had occasion to drive with someone for one or two days by car on the north,
      don't miss it!

if you've never been in presbiterian church, i also recommend you to attend on
sunday service, but not to Church of Scotland, but Free Church, or Free
Presbiterian Church (Associated presbiterian Church) - becouse they sing only
metrical Psalms, and without any instruments. It's really special. And only
Scotisch folks do that. They are very friendly people (although quite harsh on
surface), so maybe even they will welcome you for the tea (it means quite big
      meal!!)

There's plenty other things to see. Try one of theirs whisky (not whiskEy,
becouse whiskey are not from scotland), aspecially single malt's. Those are
those real ones, others are just for turist. Check how old they are on the
bottles - if they've got no notice of this, probably are not so good.

if you go far to the north, maybe you will even hear gaelic - orginal scotish
language. As to their pronauncation, it differs sometimes from town to town
more than from state to state in US.

      regards,

      m.
