strong accent again

I have similar problem with my strong accent.
I agree that it really helps to speak slowly and concentrate on each
word but is sometimes quite difficult.

I had never though about it before but I watched this
program "Ladettes to ladies" and these girls there had elocution
lessons.I know it was school for posh ,upper-middle class girls but
does anyone give lessons like this for average people?

Hi,
Some people consider 'ladettes' (girls behaving like 'lads'...lots
of binge drinking etc) to be a sign of contemporary development and
change relating to the moden society we now live in! Hmmm! My
personal opinion is that if (taking 'ladettes' as an example)
elocution lessons are needed then there is a need for basic
phonetics to be more widely practised in prmiary schools..there are
many elocution courses such as this one:

But they tend to be expensive and you can really sofen your accent
just by paying close attention to, and imitating, standard British
English intonations...or you could request a 1 on 1 series of
lessons with an English teacher to help you do this...the only pre-
requisite is the determination to learn..!!

or listen bbc4 and repeat (cheapest option) but its gonna take loads
of time anyway good luck
