      Hi Karolina,
The 'Onion Girl' is the title of a book by Charles de Lint that
      mixes fantasy and folklore..
      www.popmatters.com/books/reviews/o/onion-girl.shtml..
Perhaps his book has an explanation of the title? I haven't read it
but it sounds like a super read.

I have never heard of 'Onion Girl' being used as a metaphor but I
guess you could use it to describe a girl who crys easily?!

"...This is the story of the Onion Girl, so called for she is made of layers,
and every time you strip one away, another is revealed"

        hope it helps

hmm... I'm not perfectly sure, but shouldn't you write 'cries' rather than
        'crys'? ;)

Well spotted. Have a look at this:
Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer
in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoetnt tihng is
taht the frist and lsat ltteer be at the rghit pclae. The rset can
be a toatl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit porbelm. Tihs is
bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the
          wrod as a wlohe
          Or rather...

According to a researcher (sic) at Cambridge University, it doesn't
matter in what order the letters in a word are, the only important
thing is that the first and last letter be at the right place. The
rest can be a total mess and you can still read it without problem.
This is because the human mind does not read every letter by itself
but the word as a whole.

            clever:)
but it could also mean that everyone who makes mistakes can easily
say it doesn`t matter as long as they are being understood.
and we are here to learn....so let`s try to write correctly:)

            Hi Jonny,
            it's well known text, but I think it's a different case ;)

Yes, I know :-) Writers are notorious for poor spelling...check out
