Translation help

Could you give clues as to how translate into English:
1. inspektorat sanitarny (inspectorate is O.K but I have some doubts if
"sanitary" would be O.K.)
2. certyfikat sanitarny - again 'certificate' is pretty obvious but what
about 'sanitarny' ('sanitary' sounds awkward, doesn't it?)
3. stacja sanitarno-epidemiologiczna
My problem is that I don't believe Stanisławski any longer and, on the other
hand, Polish-English version of the new Oxford Dictionary is not yet
available.
Anyway, I do confide in you and await your help.
Michelle

It's me again. I've tried yahoo and there are plenty of 'sanitary
inspectorates' and sanitary-epidemiological stations'but funny enough all of
them come either from Poland or from former Eastern Block countries so I do not
      trust them at all.

Well, I seem to be talking to myself. How silly!
Good news - they issue 'sanitary certificates ' in Washington D.C., so at least
this term must be good English.
N.B. Does anyone happen to know when the Polish-English volume is going to be
      issued?

What I meant was the word in context not just dictionary definitions I'm
          familiar with.

...our local peasantry calls said occupation "health inspector"...and a piece
of paper signed by said person is called "health certificate"...to be
prominently displayed on the wall of every greasy spoon providing culinary
      delights to the populace...

        YES!!!
Helth ispection is done by Helth Inspector, who checks whether an establishment
is run in accordance with Helth Code rulings.
All this refers to what in Polish would be called "sanitary".
