yes, it can be used in the sense of 'angry' or 'furious' e.g. "he was really
mad when the guy insulted his sister" or "the chemistry teacher went mad when
he realised that someone had deliberately put chewing gum on his chair".
It can also be used in the sense of 'szalony' in the other sense e.g. "he's mad
about tennis",
or in the sense of crazy/idiotic/eccentric or mentally disturbed.
