      bem-vindo em Polonia!

I don't think you need to worry about PESEL, IINM you'll only need that if you
ever apply for permanent residency. I had to go to the tax office to apply for
NIP, but that was a long time ago and regulations change frequently so, no
telling what the situation is now.

This means, unless you're the first foreigner to work for this particular
company it's the responsibility of the payroll department of where you work to
know about these things. You need to get a friend (to translate if it's
necessary) and go talk to them (they won't seek you out).

WARNING (from bitter experience): Polish friends pressed into informal
translation service often don't know what to ask or how to ask for it and
usually Polish office workers have no interest in reading your mind and figuring
out what it is you want to ask.
So, unless you're careful, your friend might ask the wrong question and get the
wrong answer and you won't realize it until it's too late.
Don't worry about being a pain (assertiveness is a virtue in Poland, after all)
ask everything three times in three different ways. Start with "This is my
situation: now, what do I need to do to do X?" And remember you need to ask "is
there anything I have to do before that?" Keep smiling, and do not lose your
temper, make jokes whenever possible and work your Latin charm for all it's
worth. It wouldn't hurt to stop by a bakery ahead of time and "accidentally" buy
"too many" donuts and offer some to the people in the payroll office.

For registration, the (time consuming) best bet is to go to the local
immigration office to find out where to register (again take a friend, the
employees there are under no obligation to know any foreign language). Same
rules as to questions and answers apply (but skip the donuts for the time being).

PS: If you've already tried the payroll department, go to your local tax office
      (with friend etc)

Yeah the bureacracy is a killer.

You need to register yourself at an address. This is called "meldowanie" or
"zameldowanie". You can read about that here:
      british-in-poland.blogspot.com/search/label/registration%20%28zameldowanie%29
NIP you can do at the local treasury office (urząd skarbowy), it's just a form
to fill out (in Polish of course, so take someone to help you).

I think you can live without a Pesel for now. More info about that here:

Hello everybody again - thanx for the previous help - some how Ive
managed to arrange all the NIP and "meldunek", but now there is a
new problem which I hope some of you might help i.e. When I moved
here I brought my car with me (it's registred in Portugal) and so
far there was no any problem until now when I have to
make "technical inspection". I have contacted the car inspections
points (stacje diagnostyczne) and they told me that the car can be
inspected only in the country of registration! I have contacted
registration point in Portugal and they advised me that it's not any
problem as we are in EU and I could do it anywhere as similary they
are doing the inspections of foregin cars!. Please tell me that I do
not have to drive back to Portugal only to make the inspection.
Maybe someone knows if there is a possiblity to make it in Czech or
      Germany?
      Please help,
      Regards,
