      That could be a kind of hole (covered with a flap) in a door, so that a cat go out when it wants, and nobody has to open the door for it go out.

      Probaby, it can also mean some other things - what's the context?

          I simply knew it. I've always dreamt of having a cat and I thought that I'd have a cat flap in a door.... Still, don't have a cat, though:(
          I guesss I must have learnt it from some American book or a film.
