Gość: Bert Re: value chain opitimisation ?? IP: *.214.121.13.Dial1.Boston1.Level3.net 25.09.02, 11:50 A value chain is a string of companies working together to satisfy market demands. The value chain typically consists of one or a few primary value (product or service) suppliers and many other suppliers that add on to the value that is ultimately presented to the buying public. For example, Microsoft and its Windows operating systems are a company and a product that drives a value chain. Their OS is a platform for other software companies to develop and sell their programs compatible with the Microsoft Windows. The businesses that buy personal computer software may spend far more on the add-on software than on the essential OS that is the standard for running the software. Since the companies standardize on Windows, Microsoft is said to control a value chain. A company that develops a product or service that creates a value chain by providing a platform for other companies is often considered more likely (?) to increase its market share than a company that tries to provide the entire value chain on its own. From the point of view of an industry the structure of a value chain can be analyzed, optimized, scrutinized and so on. If one wants to optimize a chain to death, he will maximize his optimization. What a gobbledygook it is. You owe me a beer. Odpowiedz Link Zgłoś
