"material truth"

IP: *.net.autocom.pl 16.05.03, 15:35
during the proceedings of Parliamentary Investigation Comittee(i mean the one
which deals with so called "Ryvin case")this expression is often
repeated:"material truth".
i wonder what "material truth" means. Is it something different than truth?
Is it a term of law,or a philosophical term?
I'll be very grateful if You explain it to me.

I guess you know the three ancient Polish types of truth:
      prowda,
      tyz prowda,
g**** prowda. (**** - in order to avoid so-called vulgar words)

Pls match the "material truth" to any of those three categories by yourself.
And don't take it too seriously :-)

i think g**** prowda matches best...:)))
        because there're 2 possibilities:
1."material truth"=truth, and in this case it's needless to say "material
        truth","truth" alone will do;
        2."material truth"=lie=g**** prowda.
        :)))

i've heard that it was priest Tischner who used to say that there're "3 ancient
Polish types of truth";or it's a Polish Highlanders'(i mean the goorals)
saying...Anyways,it's very amusing! And also true and full of perfidious logic.
        Thanx,Azm!

And i think those parliamentary inquiries, their endeavours to discover the
truth about the Ryvin case are load of crap.Sorry for offending, but i suppose
they will discover nothing. They are biased, politically biased. And the comittee
chairman is incompetent. As for me,a farce!
I hope nobody here will lead me to the prosecutor for saying
this...Anyways,there's freedom of speech, and kinda "Hyde Park" here.

      Can be two things:
1)of consequence, important, likely to influence the
      determination of a case
2)pertinent, usually followed by "to", as in "material to
      the case"

        thank You,very much,Tynsky.
it makes sense;this "likely to influence the determination of a case" is very
convincing.now i know "material truth" has a meaning.i thought before it was
        kinda legal "blah,blah":))
thanx for Your attention and for explaining
