Letter of employment termination

IP: *.glfd.cable.ntl.com 27.03.08, 00:54
Hi,
I need a bit of advice how to write a formal letter of employment
termination in English. I want to leave my current job and I'm
obliged to give my employer a formal letter. The problem is I've
never written anything like that and I'm a bit confused. Google
returns millions of websites that offer hundreds of tips & hints how
to write your CV and what to do to find a job but none seems to help
you get rid of your current one! Thanks for your help.

Cheers,
Mr Grzyb

      Hi there,
The best resignation letter is the one that is short and sweet. If
you have enjoyed working there you may want to mention that. Please
see format and suggested content below:

      Your Name
      Your address
      Double space

Person's name to whom you are sending to
      Company address

      Date
      RE: My Resignation

      Dear..
I wish to tender my resignation from [company name] effective from
      27 March, 2008.

I have greatly enjoyed working for......and wish you every success
      in the future.

      Yours Faithfully,

What if I have not enjoyed this work at all, because my boss was
nasty, bully, arogant and rude to me ?
Still the resingnation must be sweet ?
Sorry for sarcazm , but sometimes it's very difficult to keep
        nice "tone" of this letter

Yes, I can understand what you are saying. Personally, I am always
more concerned with my own behaviour than other peoples...meaning if
I have a bad experience with someone then I wouldn't want to
reciprocate...how they conduct themselves is a personal matter and
not central to how I should act.

If you have had a bad work experience you might want to say
something like, 'thanks for the experience of working for your
company, I feel I have learned a lot.' Which is true of unpleasent
          experiences...it's all definition! :)
