genetic drift

How do I say "genetic drift" in Polish? It is about GMO crops. Is it the
same as contamination of regular crops by GMO-crops?

Yes, it's the same: Genetic drift refers to the spreading of artificially
modified genes. The concern here is that GM crops could reproduce with
unmodified plants thereby reducing diversity and contaminating previously
      unmodified crops.

In Polish: genetyczne dryfowanie? (sorry, I'm lacking Polish scientific
      vocabulary).

      Hope it helps,

      Daft

        Exactly: "dryf genetyczny".

      genetyczna modyfikacja! that is it!

Maybe "mutacja genetyczna", referring not only to the process, but also its
        result.

"Dryf genetyczny" is a phenomenon the result of which is "mutacja genetyczna",
so that that's not the same :)

I don't know much about GM crops,

but in evolutionary theory the term "genetic drift" is a quite distinct concept
that has nothing to do with artificial mutation. It (roughly) is a change in
the gene pool of a population due not to natural selection, but random
      accidents (stochastic effect).

W polskiej literaturze to znaczenie tłumaczy się jako dryf genetyczny.
