Hi
I have a problem again. I'm going to study at SGH and I'll take the exam in
English. On the whole, the tests aren't very difficult, but I am not sure
about the following sentences:

1. We talked until the early hours of the morning, .........., I overslept
2. (pick up) ......... his luggage, he went to look for a taxi.
3. Gerald always knows what he wants and usually gets it. He is so strong-
.......
4. The couple of miles is the........ I can walk. Then I'll have to take the
bus.

My answers:
1. therefore
2. Having picked up
3. willed (?)
4. most

...question 3...strong minded sounds better...but then again I'd call him "pigheaded" 'cause that's what he is;-)))...

1...therefore - as a result - and so...

They are all OK & the rest are OK, too...

Hey, you never told us about that previous test & the 'had been saving' & 'was
saving' question?

Where? I am ref. to 'kidslayer's request to let us know about the teacher's
decision on the 4th answer in the previous test...
'Copy &'Paste it for me, please... I can't find it.

...haven't got the time right now...as for "doing this..."...whose copyright?...I've been writing this way for many many moons now...and not just here...in real life as well...

My teacher at school said that both answers were OK, but "had been saving" was
better. But, it's only my teacher's opinion and it may not be the same as the
examinators' one.
