The role of the Faculty
The Faculty of Homeopathy promotes the academic and scientific development of homeopathy and ensures the highest standards in the education, training and practice of homeopathy by statutorily registered healthcare professionals.
A multi-disciplinary membership
Members of the Faculty are dentists, doctors, nurses, midwives, osteopaths, pharmacists, pediatrists and veterinary surgeons who integrate homeopathy into their practice within the bounds of their profession. The Faculty was incorporated by an Act of Parliament in 1950 and has over 1400 members worldwide.
Setting standards in homeopathic education
Faculty-accredited postgraduate courses are taught at a number of locations in the UK and overseas. Students are encouraged to sit the specialist examinations which lead to the Faculty's qualifications: LFHom, MFHom, VetMFHom and DFHom. The Faculty's qualifications have a reputation for setting the standard in homeopathic education for healthcare professionals.
An international organisation
The Faculty also publishes Homeopathy, the leading international journal in the field. As well as being an active member of the international homeopathic community, the Faculty is one of the founding members of the European Committee for Homeopathy, which has developed a European code of professional conduct and agreed standards of training in homeopathic medicine in the European Union.
