Gość: ipfreely Re: ACT IP: *.peaknet.net 26.09.02, 20:28 long time ago it was (you have to trust me on that). I got 29 - which is very good. Some say exceptional because I did not have any schooling in the USA. Based on that result and my poor financial standing I got full scholarship from Rice University in Houston, TX. I never took SAT. Gość: KH Re: ACT IP: *.tnt59.nyc3.da.uu.net 27.09.02, 01:20 SAT is made up of two sections, Math and English. The Math section contains easy little problems that are taken from Algebra, Geometry, and beginner's Precalculus. The English section is by far the harder of the two sections. It requires a fairly large wordbase. But, you should be set if you read large amounts of literature. Each section is worth 700pts, for a total of 1400. 200pts are given if you supply your registration information correctly. The highest score possible is a 1600. The first time i took the test, I got a 1480. The second time i got a 1600. There are also SAT 2's which deal with specific subjects. Most major universities require 3 (a math, a humanities (english/history), and a science). SAT 2 Math comes in two forms, the 1C or 2C. The 2C is harder and contains concepts from calculus. The 1C is easier, but disallows the use of a calculator. Humanities SAT 2's are by far the hardest of all the SAT 2's. You have US History, World History, Writing, English, etc. The tests are comparable to College Board AP Tests in the corresponding fields. These are each individually scored out of 800. Science SAT 2's are offered in Physics, Biology, Chemistry, or Environmental Science. Also, you may opt to take language tests which are offered in French, Spanish, Latin, German, Russian, Chinease, and a variety of other languages. The AP Tests mentioned earlier are college-credit qualification exams taken in highschool. They are offered in US History, Politics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science, Calculus, Micro/Macro-Economics, French, French Lanuguage, Spanish, Latin, English, English Literature, English Language, and about 20 other exams. They are scored out of 5: 1) not qualified 2) minimally qualified 3) Qualified 4) comended 5) Very Qualified A 4 or 5 is required for a college credit, although most colleges only offer credits for 5, if they offer any credits at all. I hope this helps you out. I apologize for any typing/spelling mistakes as I did not feel like profreading ;) Odpowiedz Link Zgłoś

I scored 1480, but it doesn't seem likely I will follow your exapmle with verbal, unfortunately... SAT 2 I'm taking in November. Where and what do you study? Odpowiedz Link Zgłoś
