Could you please explain what it means:
1)"bend-over-backwards"-i think it's an adverb;here is the context:
"...what they really want to show the damn Nazis is how damn bend-over-
backwards fair we are in our trials."

2)"railroad";context:
"this railroad is part show."

both expressions are from "Hart's War" by J.Katzenbach.
thanks in advance.
ps.i'm new here.i'd like to greet everybody.

"bend over backwards" means to make a special effort, particularly in order to
      please...

"railroad" is US for railway... can't see your problem there...

        Thank you very much.
Your explanation of "bend over backwards" is perfect and fits very well.
And this "railroad"-i just thought it might have some figurative
        meaning...something like "farce".i don't know...
        Thanks once more!

railroad - A  verb [transitive] INFORMAL
to force someone to do something they do not really want to do:
railroad someone into something: We were railroaded into accepting the deal.

But that's a verb - you think about it

To me bend-over-backwards means to accommodate beyond reason.
