IP: *.itpp.pl 02.06.03, 10:36
Maybe somebody of you know some association in Warsaw where people meet in
order to talk to each other in English? I mean in order to improve their
English knowledge or just not forget...
I would be grateful for some information

Iwona, perhaps you are well aware that a language is part of the culture, and
therefore something that is lived, not just practiced. I cannot imagine meeting
with expatriates, American, Canadian, or otherwise, and conversing with them
for the sake of using English, but in a foreign environment. Not saying you
cannot just talk in English about Polish matters, just that certain
expressions, idioms, thoughts, modes of relating things belong to a way of
thinking peculiar to the country which language you try to keep using. Not to
mention that a language is a living animal, and it evolves, changes, acquires
new connotations, denotations, and all those other exciting things that you
learn daily as you use it in its 'own' environment.

Maybe we will just stay on this page and will discuss here? It is possible that

OK. Maybe some of you know how to change the title of this conversation? When
we write for example "English conversation" or something like that instead
of "English spoken association in Warsaw", maybe more people will be
            interested?

Iwona, you want more or better?

or otherwise this topic can be put always on the top, the title is OK in my
oppinion, but it can be a subtitle also like "improving your english skills" or
              other, is it matter?

                Mybach,
I would like the both... More and better...
Yes, we can add a subtitle, but I don't know how to do this. And you?

          not at all!

Is it a mystery who attended such meetings with
          > you?

          There were 5 people, including 2 men and 3 women, 3 polish (1 man + 2 women),
one foreigner staying only for short period and one expact from belgium living
living in PL for almost 10 yrs.

Were that Polish people or foreigners? What subject were you talking
          > about?

one was interested only in very personal reation it was a girl, she talked only
about this issue, the man from belgium was quite serious, and one girl also
serious and reasonable, and the one who was interested to stay for a short
          period was just watching.
The subject we talked about was job, life, house, wine, travel, hobby, but
after 2,5 h we had nothing to talked about, so there was no discouss about
          other meeting, thats all.
          RGS.

To all who visit this forum.
      I have some questions:

Do you belive in real friendship?
Do you have real friend or friends?
      Are they men or women.
If You are a woman your friend whom you trust is a man or woman?
      The same with the man.
      RGS.
Waiting for answer and thanks in advance.
      Mybach.

I have some friends whom I trust. Not so many, but better have less than for
example false. My friends are women and I'm a woman too.
Some woman about 50 years old told me that there is no real friendship between
a woman and a men because one part always hopes for closer relationship.
What about you? What is your opinion?

          It is true!!!
But how to find which is trustworthy?

My friends are women and I'm a woman too.

Ana Im a man and my friends are mostly women and only one man.

This is dificult, for sure I think it is possible, but more dificult.
When man has a wife and woman has a husband, they should be friends.
And for sure real on the other hand friendship is a kind of love, in my
oppinion, and sometimes I think is more dificult to fight for real friendship
          then for love.
Friendship is very dificult to continue, well...
But why, I dont know why, Im telling You that story.

You wonder why do you tell me your story about friendship. Maybe you just think
that I'm trustworthy person? How to find it in general? It's hard to say. Maybe
you just can see that some person is very friendly, nice and so on. This person
tries don't hurt you. Maybe he / she tries to help you? And thanks to this you
            trust him / her.
May I ask where did you meet people who you can call friends?

Why I told you the story, I cant explain, but the matter that you are
trustworthy? I don't know, maybe yes or not, I'd rather ask your friends about
              this, if I'd know this.
How to find it in general, I think that everyone is diferrent, and because of
that there is no general, byt at first we hope that sb. is trustworthy, we give
him chance, and this is quite big.
Of course it's my general, and for sure not all have the chance for chance.
First view is more than often wrong.
And about the where I met people, who I call friends, in life and during life.
Not at school, work, restaurants, disco. Also not in internet.
But in travel, and by other people.
              BRgs.
