Autostrady...

24.05.05, 20:31
Witam
Wybieram się :) ... i chcę wstępnie zaplanować trasy. Czy jest gdzieś jakaś
dobra strona portugalskich autostrad?

      Hello!

      Try this links:

      www.viamichelin.com/viamichelin/gbr/tpl/hme/MaHomePage.htm
      www.brisa.pt/webnew/brisa_home.asp (also in english)

If you're planning to do a european tour or travel to Portugal don't hesitate
to ask for something. I have some experience with driving through Europe
especially from Portugal to Poland and Vice-versa.

      Fica bem!

trzeba gdzies spac, cos zjesc itp. Krotko to przemyslalem i wybralem samolot.
Portugalii, z Hiszpanii spory zapas wina, wlasciwie tyle ile sie zmiesci bo

          Hi!

Sorry for the delay in answering to you.

Regarding tools in portuguese highways is not like in Spain where you have to
stop once in a while. In Portugal you have to take a ticket from an electronic
machine and pay in the end of the trip, it can be in cash or plastic money.

Do avoid tools you must take express ways "via-rapida" or national
road "estrada-nacional", usually they're in quite good state though one must be
carefull with speed since you go from a fast express way to a small village
with crossings and traffic in no time, serious accidents can happen.

If you go by car just load as much wine as you want... no problem.

Nowadays if I would need to go to Portugal by car only with plenty of time,
          it's really heavy.

Have a nice trip and enjoy!

        Hello Portulaco,

What would be the shortest way travel from Poland to Portugal (north of
        Portugal) based on your experiance.

        • keepersmaid Re: Autostrady... 08.07.05, 18:10
          Berlin-Paryz-Bordeaux-Portugalia

            Berlin-Paryz-Bordeaux-Portugalia

Exactly like keepersmaid said. Best border to cross is Swiecko, avoid northern
France, better to rest in Germany and then don't try to avoid Paris or it's
even worse. You can save more than 180 euros if you avoid High-Ways in France.
In Spain go in 'Droga Krajowa' because high-ways are expensive and DK are very
            good.

Enter Portugal coming from Valencia-Toro speedway and finally reach Vilar
Formoso-Braganca where you can take IP-4 "note that IP-4 is very dangerous".

Monday or Thuesday I give you more feed-back since today I want to get the hell
            out of this office!

            Have a nice week-end

              spory koszt!
Kilku znajomych odradza jednak jechanie autem tak dalego. Czy rzeczywiscie jest
tak ciężko??? Mam 3 tygodnie urlopu - chyba powinno wystarczyć, żeby co nieco
              zobaczyć?!
Pokusa swobodnego przemieszcania sie i mozliwości przywiezienia dobrego,
              portugalskiego wina jest jednak duża!

      Hi once again Kowoll.

I would like to add some more commments to you and to those who want to travel
      Poland-Portugal-Poland.

If your car has the black and white Polish number-plate beware of German police
since they are quite eager to check if the car has 'badania tekniczne'. If you
tank in Germany please don't do it in the motorway, is better to leave and add
fuel in some city or village, the difference in price is visible, of course
this is the golden rule in all other countries.

In France and if you're driving in normal road 'RN Route-Nationale'be ready for
the 'Gendarmerie' - as French police is called - to ask questions and ask you
for the documents 'vos papiers Monsieur' but please... don't laugh to them :-)

French police usually don't speak English and don't like to speak foreign
      languages.

Finding low budget hotels in France is a piece of cake. Formule 1, Etap are
only some of the cheapest and available for travelers, of course you shouldn't
expect to find any kind of luxury, Formule 1 have common WC and showers with
private cabins in each floor and Etap are slightly more expansive but have at
least WC and shower in the room.

In the border France-Spain usually there are patrols controling the traffic
-you're in the Basque Country- but nothing to be afraid. Avoid to tank in
France since petrol in Spain is cheaper, much cheaper.

Accomodation in Spain is easy to find. From the French Spanish border to
Portugal is around 810 km. Possible to do it in one day though you should stop
in Zamora (Spain) or drive more 25 km in direction of Braganca city to rest
finally. Usually you can find the Spanish police 'Guardia Civil' near the
border. I was always stoped by them in the some corner in all the trips,
really. They check for drug smuglers usually.

      Then you are in Portugal.

Don't forget to buy a reflective jacket -in Portugal you are obliged to have
      one in the boot-

Portuguese drivers speed a lot and tail gate -unfortunetly-

Portuguese police (GNR-BT, GNR and PSP)is quite open to dialogue so if you step
on them try to be nice and prize the country or something like that, maybe they
will let you go 'don't tell to nobody I wrote this ;-)'

Enjoy your trip, if you have more questions fell free to ask I will be glad to
      help.
